3s fall short
The 3’s started the season away to Boroughmuir with a good mixture of young and not so young.
Despite losing the toss, we found ourselves in the preferred position of bowling first on a soft, green wicket. No early wickets but the damage was done by Rob Grisenthwaite who took 4/24 and really put the brakes on. All other bowlers did well but the highlight was some sharp fielding with lots of good catching and two excellent run outs as Boroughmuir were bowled out for 152.
In reply, at 73/0 and with Ben Thurman and Anish Amin batting very well, all seemed in hand. Then both were out, and a collapse followed with 7 wickets falling for 11 runs. Zaki watched all this from the other end as we never recovered. All out for 112.
Onto Penicuik next week.
