Welcome
Carlton takes great pride in how our women’s section has gone from strength to strength over the years, since it first started in 2012. We have a hugely diverse range of abilities in our squad, from women who have never played cricket before to Scotland internationalists. We encourage everyone to come and give cricket a go at our club – there’s something for everyone and we’d love to have you along at one of our training sessions.
Interested? If so, we’d love to hear from you! Email us at carltonwomen@gmail.com and we’ll get back in touch with you as soon as we can about how you can get involved with our friendly squad!
Training
Women’s training sessions take place from 6.30-8pm every Monday and Wednesday, at 180 Grange Loan, Edinburgh, EH9 2EE.
Playing Opportunities
Women’s cricket in Scotland has various women’s league competitions throughout the season. For the 2026 season, the Women’s Premier League has been split into a 40-over and 30-over competition, with Carlton having a team in each. Carlton also has a team in the Women’s Challenger League (East) giving younger and less experienced players the opportunity to play hardball cricket and to develop their skills.
More information on leagues and fixtures is available on the Cricket Scotland website.
Coaches
Our Coach for this season is Ali Evans. With 15 years professional sports experience, Ali has extensive cricket experience at International, First Class/Domestic and Club Level worldwide. He’s a fantastic coach and we’re very lucky to have him on board!
