Weekend preview – 2nd/3rd May
This weekend we kickstart the EPL and WPL 40 with both Carlton sides playing their first league fixtures away from home.
On Saturday the 1st XI head to Inverleith where they will take on Stewart’s Melville in their opening EPL match. Olly Davidson is unavailable through injury and with Shiv Jhala also absent, Stevie Gilmour and Oli Stones will make their first appearances of the season for the top team at the club.
The 2nd XI look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Morton as they host Penicuik at Grange Loan. Pavan Yaradi, Ben D’Ulisse and Aadi Khadse all come into the side.
The 3rd XI will face off against Edinburgh University Staff at Peffermill on Saturday. Robbie Murray features for the first time in 2026 and there are Arrows debuts for Shazaib Salim and Christopher Brennan.
The 5th XI finish Saturday’s allotment of fixtures as they head south to Whitestone Park where they will play against Peebles. The side contains plenty of youthful elements with only 4 adults featuring this weekend.
On Sunday The Women’s First XI start their WPL 40 campaign in the west as they take on East Kilbride. Samantha Evans’ side contains plenty of familiar faces, however there is a Carlton debut for Varsha Suresh.
The Women’s Second XI will look to make it 2 from 2 in the WPL 30 as they host Lomond Lynx at Peffermill. Panashe Muzambe comes into the side in place of Holly Sladen who has been promoted to the Women’s 1s.
The 4th XI tie up the weekend as they welcome Gala 2s to Grange Loan. Arjun Shelke comes into the side alongside his father, Abhijeet, who will be making his debut for the Arrows.
Both the Second XI’s and Fourth XI’s fixtures at Grange Loan will be livestreamed on the Carlton CC YouTube Channel.
