Weekend preview – 25th/26th April

We’re back in competitive action for the first time in 2026, with 5 league fixtures and 1 cup match on the horizon.

On Saturday Gav Murray will captain the 2nd XI for the first time as his side host Morton at Grange Loan for a 1pm start. The 2s welcome two new faces to the club, Barry Vosloo and Tom Pedley. Stevie Gilmour returns to an experienced top order whilst Charles Stronach looks to continue on his fine form with the ball from 2025.

The 3rd XI start their ESCA Division 2 campaign away to Edinburgh CC 2s at Campbell Park.  Brad McKay’s side includes new man Taha Khan, alongside a 3rd XI debut for Elliot Peltenburg. Tom Hathorn, Shaun Smith and Euan Keatinge, the 3s top scorers from last season, feature within the top order.

The 5th XI will head to North Edinburgh to take on Stewart’s Melville 4s at Inverleith.  Euan Murray captains the side in Keith Murray’s absence, with Ishan Samanta making his first competitive appearance for the Arrows. George Barry also makes his senior debut, with his dad, Daniel, bolstering the 5s’ top order.

On Sunday the 1st XI make the long journey north to face off against Aberdeenshire in the first round of the Scottish Cup. Daniel Da Costa, Chris McBride and Olly Davidson are all available. New signing Shovik Chakraborty will earn his first cap for the 1s.

The Women’s 2nd XI will make their competitive league debut in the newly formed Women’s Premier League 30. They host Stew Mel 2s at Inverleith’s artificial track, with proceedings kicking off at 1pm. Former international rugby player Sarah Law will strengthen Sarah Beith’s top order.

The 4th XI wrap up the weekend as they welcome Stewart’s Melville 3s to Grange Loan on Sunday.  Al Murray is taking up residence behind the wheel of the Aberdeen-bound minibus, meaning David Simpson will take the reins at Grange Loan. Siddharth Narayanaswamy makes his debut for the club, whilst Vijay Raghavan and Alexander Fedenczuk return to the top order for the 4th XI.

The Second XI and Fourth XI fixtures at Grange Loan will be livestreamed on the Carlton CC YouTube Channel.
