Weekend preview – 30th/31st May

It’s another 6 game weekend with the 5 senior teams in action on Saturday and the Women’s 2s playing on Sunday.  The ever popular Junior 6s is also on at Grange Loan on Sunday.

The 1st XI host Watsonians at Grange Loan in a match kindly sponsored by Paul Bailey.  Olly Davidson (sponsored by Haldi) plays his first EPL game at home along with Ben Stronach and Shreyas Tekale elevated from the 2s last week.  They come in for Conor Regan and Shiv Jhala who are both away this weekend.

The 2nd XI make the journey south to take on Gala at Meigle Park.  Oli Stones and Tom Simpson are available again and Gav Murray is back from holidays in a strong looking top order.  Aadi Khadse is back in the side having recovered from an ankle injury and Dougie Firth is promoted from the 3s to bolster the seam bowling options.

The 3rd XI are on the road to take on RHC 3s at Barnton.  Scott Fraser is back at the top of the order and Samantha Evans comes into the side along with Robbie Murray who was unavailable last week.  Atreya Subr & Raghuram Parasur earn promotion from the 4s after impressing with the ball and Dan Mowat is also available again to give skipper Brad McKay more seam bowling options.

The 4th XI are also away, making the short journey to Kirkhill to take on Penicuik 2s.  Alex Fedenczuk is back and Josh Cully makes his first appearance for the Arrows having finished his exams.  There is a promotion for Ishan Samanata on the back of his half century for the 5s last week and Harley Cox makes his Carlton debut, hoping to bamboozle the home side with his leggies.

The final game on Saturday sees the 5th XI entertain Edinburgh South 4s at Merchiston Castle School.  Rahul Khadse is at the helm with a strong cohort of U13s and some more experienced players.  Vijay Raghavan is in to strengthen the top order while the side features 2 father & son combinations with Dan & George Barry and the skipper and son Aaradhy.

On Sunday the Women’s 2s travel to Bailliefields to take on Westquarter & Redding in the Challenger Cup.  Amelia Beattie & Diana Blood are back in an otherwise familiar line up with skipper Sarah Beith looking to take her side through to the next round of this T20 competition.
