Weekend preview – 21st/22nd June

Another double header weekend for the 1s is on the horizon, including our Scottish Cup quarter final at Grange Loan against Arbroath
On Saturday the 1st XI make the extremely short journey to Inch Park where they will take on newly promoted Edinburgh South. The Arrows currently sit 5 places above the hosts who are 7th in the EPL. Jamie Beattie, Conor Regan and Rory Allardice are all back in action for the top team.
The 2nd XI host 5th place Drummond Trinity at Grange Loan for a 1pm start. The two sides previously met in ESCA Division 1 last year. In that match the Arrows ran out 2 wicket winners in a last over thriller with over 500 runs scored in the game. Ben D’Ulisse, Oli Stones and Harry Simpson are all on duty for the 2s.
The 3rd XI are on another short journey to Double Hedges to play against Kirk Brae. Euan Keatinge will captain the side for the first time in Brad McKay’s absence. Calum Robertson, Samantha Haggo and Max D’Ulisse all return to the side.
The 4th XI are at “home” at Winterfield Park against Dunbar. The side from East Lothian are currently joint 3rd in ESCA Division 5 and are 3 places above the Arrows. Duncan Dalzel-Job is back available for the 4s for the first time since impressing with the ball against Melrose in round 6.
The 5th XI round off Saturday as they face off against Musselburgh 2s at Neilson Park in Haddington. Dilan Amin is on senior debut, whilst Bob Irvine, Mike Kennedy and Kailas Shelar come into the side.
On Sunday the First XI entertain Arbroath United at Grange Loan in the Scottish Cup quarter final, undoubtedly the showpiece event of the weekend. Last week’s league fixture against Arbroath didn’t survive the weather so this will be the first time the two sides have met this year. The sides last met in the cup in the 2016 semi-final at Grange Loan, where the visitors progressed to the final by 9 runs. More details on the history of the two clubs can be found in the most recent edition of the Arrow.
On Sunday the Women’s First XI will make the long journey up to Huntly to play against Grampian Thistles in the WPL. Ajitha Rajan, Emily Rose, and Holly Sladen all come in to the XI.
Both the Second XI’s and First XI’s fixtures at Grange Loan will be livestreamed on the Carlton CC YouTube Channel.
