DW Raistrick
The club is very sad to report the death of Dave Raistrick last week at the age of 88. Dave joined Carlton from Brunswick CC in 1975 and played for 16 seasons at Grange Loan. A seam bowler who was more than capable with the bat, Dave took 109 wickets for the 1st XI and 138 for the 2nds. He was part of the 1988 side which won the East League for the first time in the club’s history and was named Famous Grouse “Team of the Year”.
Dave was a senior figure in the Edinburgh financial scene rising to the level of partner at stockbrokers Wood Mackenzie. He brought that financial acumen to Carlton, acting as Honorary Treasurer between 1982 and 1996. He was also appointed a Life Member of the club and served as a Trustee. He will be greatly missed by everyone at Grange Loan.
At his request, the funeral is to be attended by family only.
