U9 Kwik Cricket fun in the sun

The Carlton u9 Kwik Cricket festival was held on a glorious sunny morning at Grange Loan on Sunday 25th August.

Carlton hosted teams from Grange, Watsonians, Heriots, Bass Rock, SMRH, Penicuik, MDAFS and Edinburgh South. The two young Carlton teams won 4 out of their 6 games, only losing to Heriots by one run off the final ball, a closer result than their elders were to achieve in the Scottish Cup final later that day.

Many thanks to all who played, coached and supported at the festival. A particular thank you to Martin Firth for running it once again and to the parents who helped out selling refreshments. Great to get some cricket played in the sunshine at last.

The final Kwik Cricket event of the season is the legendary players v parents match on Sunday 1st September. There are still places left for players who want to smack their parent’s bowling around Grange Loan.
