Weekend preview – 19th/20th July

On Saturday the 1st XI head to Broughty Ferry to take on Forfarshire who are one spot below them in the EPL table. A win in Dundee would consolidate their 3rd place in the standings. Chris McBride comes back into the side in place of Ruari Macpherson at the top of the order as well as Ben Stronach replacing Fergus Foley who impressed on debut last week, but is unavailable this Saturday.
The 2nd XI welcome Gala to Grange Loan with both sides hoping to get back to winning ways. Oli Stones is back in the side along with Isaac Foley and Rory Ledingham replacing Max D’Ulisse, Hector Murray and Aadi Khadse.
The 3rd XI travel to Alloa to take on Clackmannan County at the Arns. Skipper Brad McKay is able to field a much stronger side this week with Anish Amin, Euan Keatinge and Andrew Lang all back available and Aadi Khadse down from the 2s. Pete Gill is also back in town and set to make his first appearance for the Arrows this year.
The final game on Saturday sees the 4th XI travel to Boghall to play Linlithgow 2s. There is also a lot of change of personnel for the 4s as Abhi Mehta and Finlay Thompson come into the side and Ian Thompson and Kartic & Atreya Subr earn promotion from the 5s.
On Sunday the 1st XI are involved in the Masterton Trophy Finals Day at Goldenacre. They take on Heriot’s in their semi-final, kicking off at 11:30am and should they get through that they will meet either RHC or Stew Mel in the Final. Charlie Buchanan-Smith comes into the matchday 11 in place of Shiv Jhala.
Also on Sunday the Women’s 1st XI have another attempt to play their Beyond Boundaries Scottish T20 Cup first round tie against Stew Mel at Inverleith. With Samantha Evans still away on honeymoon Charis Scott leads the side. They have Abbi Aitken-Drummond available along with Scotland A star Maisie Maceira and a whole host of talented youngsters.
The final game of the weekend sees the 5th XI host Clackmannan County 2s at Grange Loan. Captain Keith Murray is able to call on the services of David Simpson & Scott Fraser who have managed their availability to ensure another game at Grange Loan along with regular 5th teamer Martin Robertson who is back from marshalling duties at the golf.
