Carlton Legends

Carlton Legends

2025 has seen the inauguration of the Carlton Legends, offering a series of benefits to anyone who has played over 100 senior matches for the club. Through their generous membership of this exclusive club, Legends support the continuing development of Carlton Cricket Club as well as finding opportunities to reconnect with old friends and today’s players.

* – Dave Carter is the only Legend to play for all 5 senior league teams.  Has also turned out for the Mixed Development XI and the Over 50s, i.e. every team at Carlton that it was possible for him to play in.  A unique achievement!

Backroom Legends

Throughout Carlton’s 160 plus year history, there have been many legendary players who have excelled on the field of play.

But the club has also benefited from the contributions of a number of legendary figures beyond the field of play. This part of the website celebrates them. Without their hard work and commitment, Carlton would not be what we know today.

NL Stevenson

The driving force for the club for the first half of the 20th century, he captained the 1st XI for 29 years between 1902 and 1948.  The first Honorary Life President from 1958-67.

Margaret Masterson

A great benefactor of the club and Honorary Life President from 1968-88.

Alun Davies

A stalwart of the club on and off the field from the 1960s onwards.  Captain of the 1st XI from 1964-76; Club President from 1986-94; Honorary Life President from 1995-2019.

Jimmy Jappy

First elected to the Council in 1947, he held virtually ever office at the club over the next 33 years and worked tirelessly around the club.

Alasdair Mcleod

Legendary volunteer for the club first as Bar Convenor and then working on the ground.  Head Groundsman for many years preparing some of the best cricket wickets in the country.

Brian Forrester

Another legendary volunteer.  Membership Secretary for decades and can regularly be found working to keep Grange Loan looking the picture it is today.

Hugh Parker

1st team captain for 3 season including 1988 winning the Famous Grouse Team of the Year award.  Club President from 1995-2005 and again in 2013.  Current Honorary Life President

Living Legends

There are of course a number of players still playing who have turned out on more than 100 occasions and their continuing service gives great continuity and experience to the club.
