Weekend preview – 2nd/3rd August

The 1st XI travel north to Perthshire to take on 10th placed Meigle in the EPL. Angus Guy & Arun Pillai are missing this week but the Arrows welcome back Rory Allardice and Ruari Macpherson. Rudy Adair is restored to the ranks following a successful return to action in the 2s last week after a nasty hand injury. Adair comes into the side in place of Jamie Beattie who drops down to the 2s.
The 2nd XI are also playing the bottom side in their division as they welcome Linlithgow to Grange Loan. Ally Evans is playing only his second game of the season and there is a welcome return for Kyle Macpherson who is back in the saddle after a spell away from the game. They come in for Isaac Foley who has work commitments and Calum Robertson who drops down to the 3s.
The 3rd XI are away to Edinburgh Accies 2 at Newfield. They will be looking to build on their fine win against Bass Rock last week but will be up against it as Accies have only lost twice so far this season. Josh Cully & Finlay Thompson are away this week but Calum Robertson is down from the 2s and Hamish Foley is available again. Long time 3s stalwart Cam Moore is back from a work placement overseas so the 3s will have something of a rarity in a genuine keeper at their disposal. In Brad McKay’s absence Euan Keatinge will lead the side.
The final game on Saturday sees the 5th XI host MDAFs 4s at Myreside Arti. Rahul Khadse takes the side again and has David Simpson down from the 4 as well being able to call on the services of Duncan Dalzel-Job. Top wicket taker Elliot Peltenburg is back in action and big hitting Mike Kennedy is available again, who may find the compact surroundings of Myreside Arti to his liking.
On Sunday the 4th XI take on Melrose at Grange Loan. The strong availability higher up the club means that skipper Al Murray is able to put out a side including Anish Amin, Andrew Lang and Raghuram Parasur. Young Ollie MacCallum is set to make his 4th team debut after impressing in the 5s earlier in the season.
Both the Second XI and Fourth XI fixtures at Grange Loan will be livestreamed on the Carlton CC YouTube Channel.
