Weekend preview – 5th/6th July

It’s the biggest weekend of the season so far with two massive cup fixtures in store.
On Saturday the 1st XI head north to Scroggie Park where they will meet Falkland. The Arrows currently sit 4 places above Falkland in 5th place. Gavin Murray, Rory Allardice, Oli Stones and Harry Simpson replace Arun Pillai, Charlie Buchanan-Smith, Shiv Jhala and Rudy Adair from last weekend.
The 2nd XI host Dunnikier at Grange Loan with both sides coming into the game off the back of big league wins. Ben D’Ulisse, Matthew Wells, Shreyas Tekale and Fergus Foley come into the side in place of Calum Robertson, Max D’Ulisse, Dougie Firth and Shaun Smith.
The 3rd XI will play against Drummond Trinity 2s at Peffermill for a 12pm start. Anish Amin, Calum Robertson, Shaun Smith and Tom Hathorn all return to the side as well as Hamish Foley, who’s 87* guided the 4s to a win last weekend.
The 4th XI will finish off Saturday against Penicuik 2s at Kirkhill for the second time this season. Chris Sale and Mike Kennedy add resources to the top of the order with Daniel Mowat and Finlay Thompson also both available this weekend.
The First XI host their first home Scottish Cup semi final since 2019. The Arrows take on Heriot’s at Grange Loan for a 12pm start, with the bar open from 12:30pm and Pizza Geeks opening up at 2pm. The Arrows feature three changes from Saturday with Michael Raikes, Arun Pillai and Charlie Buchanan-Smith replacing Ben Stronach, James Stronach and Oli Stones.
On Sunday the Women’s First XI are on cup duty in the Women’s T20 Scottish Cup against Stew Mel at Inverleith at 2pm. Stew Mel were victorious in the rain affected WPL fixture between the two sides earlier this year. The winner will earn an away quarter final tie against Grampian Thistles.
The 5th XI will host Stew Mel 4s at Peffermill for a 12pm start on Sunday. Keith Murray is still absent, however Josh Cully, Ollie McCallum, Noah Moncur and Ian Thompson all return to the side. Youngsters Arjun Shelke, Aaradhy Khadse and Tom Sweet all retain their places in the side after impressing with the ball last week.
