Weekend preview – 31st May/1st June

Another weekend of cricket is just about here and we have 6 league games coming up.

On Saturday the 1st XI are hosting Meigle at Grange Loan in round 5 of the EPL. The Arrows currently sit 7 places higher than the winless Perthshire side at 3rd in the table.  Whilst Chris McBride and Olly Davidson are on Scotland ‘A’ duty, Ali Evans returns to the side for the first time this season. Gus Guy and Oli Stones also come back into the side.  Daniel Da Costa boasts an average of 89.67 against Meigle in the league, and an average of 212 at Grange Loan against the visitors.

The 2nd XI head west to Boghall to take on Linlithgow in the ESCA Championship.  Raghuram Parasur and Josh Cully make their 2nd team debuts and Anish Amin, Charlie Kentish, Zaki Yusaf and Conor Regan are also back in the side.

The 3rd XI welcome Edinburgh Accies 2s to Merchiston Castle School for a 1:30pm start. The side has an extensive list of junior talent on show with Max D’Ulisse and Ben Stronach being the most senior members of the team, bar skipper Brad McKay.

The 4th XI are back on the road to the borders, but this time they’re off to Huntlyburn to face off against Melrose. The headline in terms of team news comes in the form of Kyle Burgess’ return from the States. Duncan Dalzel-Job, Lawrence Bennett and Aaradhy Khadse are all set to make their 4th team debuts.

On Sunday the Women’s First XI are looking to bounce back with a home game at Grange Loan against Watsonians/Dumfries.  The visitors currently sit in 2nd, one place above the Arrows.  The home side shapes up with its regular mix of youth and experience.

The 5th XI round off the weekend as they play against MDAFs 4s at Roseburn Artificial on Sunday.  There are changes throughout the side including Keith Murray returning to skipper the side after last weekend’s absence.

Both the First XI’s and Women’s First XI’s fixtures at Grange Loan will be livestreamed on the Carlton CC YouTube Channel.
