A sunny and warm morning greeted us at Stew Mel where we bowled first.  

Good bowling from all 10 bowlers with each bowling 2 overs.  Good accurate off stump and offside corridor bowling was key to keeping Stew Mel to a very low total.  Best of the bowling was Grace 2 for 1 - one of them being a good caught behind from Manu and the other clean bowled, Rudy 1 for 2 with a clean bowled and several near chances. Sam, Sergi and Tomos also got wickets.  

Good all round ground fielding from everyone with no misfields or overthrows.  Also, a great catch from Max was another highlight of a great performance in the field. Well done and keep it going. Also, Rory did a good job as captain with sensible field placements appropriate for each batsman.

Chasing a small total we moved some of the more experienced/bigger hitters to the lower order which gave an opportunity to others to get a good bat.  Unfortunately Tomos was run out for a diamond duck (without facing a ball). Kyle made up for this with a good 8 before retiring. Sam also got 8 and had a good partnership with strong running between the wicket with Sergi who made 3 before being bowled.

Grace made a nice 8 with Rory a quick fire 16 retired and Rudy 9 not out at the end.  As I said after the match, the key point to think about is hitting with a straight face of the bat through the V (mid off to mid on) early on in the innings until you get your eye in. Rory did this very well when he batted.
