A purposeful unbeaten 79 from pro Peter Wooden ably assisted by 60 n.o. from Jamie Kerr see Carlton home with 5 overs to spare and only 3 wickets down - leaving Greenock pointless under the new SNCL system and Carlton top of the Premier Division. |

| Following persistent rain, the match is reduced to a bowl-out - the first seen at GL. 5 bowlers bowling at a full set of stumps, Carlton win 5-4, with Dave Robertson the star, hitting middle stump with both of his deliveries. Commiserations to Stoneywood-Dyce - lising by just 1 wicket in the worst way possible. Better luck next time. |

| In a finish as dramatic as has been seen at GL for many a year, Carlton just failed to crawl over the line in a tense finish. Clydesdale batted first despite the damp weather, reaching only 133 due to 2 wickets for Cedric English, Mo Afzal and Dave Robertson and two run-outs. However, Carlton's batting foundered on Clydesdale's twin-spin attack of Ross Lyons and Zeeshan Bashir, with only Craig Marshall and Dave Robertson making a fist of the reply. With 131 on the board and one wicket remaining, a leg-side hit from Dave Robertson looked an easy two, but a "one-short" call from Mac Wylie left Carlton short of a draw when Dave was caught behind off the next ball. Still, 7 points despite losing the match, sees Carlton top of the SNCL Premier Division alongside Greenock and Clydesdale. |

| A nail-biter at Portgower Place as Carlton post a decent 1st innings total of 243, Cedric English with an undefeated 120 and useful contributions from Bryn Lockie, Jamie Kerr and overseas amateur Kobi Griggs hitting 2 of the last 3 balls in the innings for 6. Grange's top-order fails to fire in the face of some sharp fielding - stunning catches from Bryn Lockie and Peter Wooden included - but a half-century from Sanjay Patel and 88 from Giles Holmes take Grange close - but not close enough. With Grange 6 behind at the start of the last over Peter Wooden takes two wickets to seal Carlton's 3rd win in 4 matches, a brace of away wins against the much-fancied Grange and Greenock and top-slot in the Premier Division. |

| Winning the toss, West batted first in damp conditions, reaching 100 for the loss of only one wicket, but pro Barrington Rowland fell to the off-spin of ex West player Stevie Gilmour signalled a dramatic collapse to 143 all out, 3 wickets for Stevie and Peter Wooden, a miserly opening spell from Cedric English and Mo Afzal and two run-outs to wrap-up the innings. Stevie's 33 set the platform in the Carlton reply, but it was Bryn Lockie at his imperious best, stroking his way to 61 in the company of Jamie Kerr after Cedric and Woody fell in successive balls that decided the contest. |

Most of the top-order chip in with 23 for Stevie, 37 for Cedric 21 for Bryn and 34 not out from Woody to win with 11 overs to spare. |

| At last, a match away following 4 consecutive Grange Loan washouts, but the 1sts have remembered how to win. The bowlers restrict Uddy's batting, with no-one posting more than 30, 4 wickets for Woody, but the rest shared-around. Once again, Cedric takes a shine to the Uddy bowlers, he rarely fails with the bat at BCP, this time scoring an undefeated 82, assisted by 50 from Woody with the rest chipping-in to take Carlton to a comfortable win with 4 overs to spare. |

| Clydesdale bag a brace of wins over Carlton, their 1 run win in the first fixture followed by a more comfortable home win this time. Greg Williamson's patient 50 on a tricky wicket is the difference between the sides, despite Stevie Gilmour's 3 for 9. The batsmen fail to get going in the second dig, losing wickets regularly and cheaply to finish pointless. |

| Once again, Barrington Rowland is the mainstay of the West innings as they bat first but struggle against the usual miserly opening bowling from Cedric and Russell, until former West player Stevie Gilmour takes 2 wickets and has a hand in two run-outs to leave WoS in trouble. Kobi Griggs starts off at a canter, scoring 31 off 33 balls, fellow opener Peter Swan matching his total to give the Carlton batting a solid start, leaving Cedric with 25 and Peter and Stevie each with 10 not out to secure Carlton a spot in the final for the first time in decades. |

| In a rain-affected end-of-season encounter at Meikleriggs, the match is reduced to a 30 over thrash, with Ferguslie needing victory to put pressure on Greenock to win the Premier Division. Ferguslie's challenging total just falls out of reach of the Carlton reply, Woody's 71 the only substantial score as Carlton try to maintain the required run-rate. |

| First attempt rained-off, but second attempt on Sunday, 26th went ahead, much to the credit of Ferguslie CC who moved heaven and earth (and plenty of water) to prepare a fitting setting for the cup final, Carlton's first since 1977. On that occasion, Clydesdale won and this time around, Carlton again fell at the final hurdle, but not without a fight. Winning the toss and batting first, Carlton started brightly, Bryn Lockie starting solidly as Kobi Griggs smashed Craig Wright to the boundary three times before being given out unluckily LBW. Bryn then fell to a slip catch off former Carlton junior Sean Weeraratna, now playing for Greenock. Cedric and Woody then settle into a partnership before Cedric smashes a cover drive, sets off of a run and Richie Berrington dives to stop the ball in the covers and flings the ball to the bowlers end where Cedric finds himself short of his ground. Stevie Gilmour then gets one from Craig Wright that keeps low, LBW, Jamie Kerr smacks a four throught the covers but sweeps at the next ball and is caught at fine-leg, leaving Carlton in deep trouble. A modicum of respectability is then restored by Peter Wooden in a 37 run partnership with Craig Marshall, until Woody is caught behind for 30. Craig falls for 16 with the score on 98 for 7. The next three wickets form a hat-trick for Kevin McLaren, the only addition to the score being the wide from which Jamie Crosthwaite stumps Mo Afzal. With only 33 overs bowled and tea not yet ready, Greenock start their reply, surely in confident mood. 31 on the board without loss, but the Carlton bowling machine clicks into gear - a double-wicket maiden for Russell Martindale, Bryn bags two spectacular slip-catches off Cedric and Woody and the game is back in the balance. The tea interval comes at a fortunate time for Greenock, allowing them time to regroup. As the game resumes, Craig Wright's calm resolve accompanied by Sean Weeraratna steer Greenock to a 5 wicket win. Russell finishes with 2 for 23, Woody with 2 for 16, but Greenock take the spoils, galavanting back to the Tail of the Bank in an open-topped bus and a shower of champagne. Surely it won't be another 30 years until Carlton's next Scottish Cup final. |

The much-postponed Masterton Final moves from it's mid-season evening slot to an end-of-season Sunday afternoon, the year's earlier downpours replaced by balmy late-summer sunshine. Carlton win the toss and bat first, but the regular tumble of wickets slows the run-rate, Simon Smith's 3 catches and 2 stumpings not helping the Carlton cause. Cedric patiently building a not-out 46 with some late acceleration from Rob Thornton the mainstays of the home side's 109, surely not enough runs on the board. Cedric and Ally Evans, however, have different plans. Opening the bowling, they have 3 Scotland caps back in the hutch for only 4 runs - Cedric's return, 4 overs 2 for 7, but 18 year-old Ally bags 3 Scotland caps for just 15 runs from his 4 over spell, utilising the pace and bounce that caused problems in last year's final for Heriot's. The change-bowling offers no relief for the Grange batsmen either, 2 for 8 from Stevie Gilmour and 2 wickets for Charles Legget, smashed for two sixes and a four by Masterton specialist Stuart Davidson before he's yorked next ball to snuff-out Grange's main hope of victory. Young Oliver Hairs does his best but Omer Ahmad bags the wicket of the experienced Andy Wilson, leaving Stevie Gilmour to bowl Gordon Allan to snatch a victory that looked unlikely at half time - a fitting end to a season of real progress for for Carlton, Masterton captain Jamie Kerr lifting the trophy, and Cedric edging out Ally Evans for Man of the Match honours.
